We are dedicated to creating a nurturing ecosystem that paves the way for underprivileged children to thrive, ultimately shaping them into empowered global citizens of tomorrow.
The Karmakar Foundation is a grant-making, not-for-profit registered institution, funding non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and affiliated institutions that are actively working toward ensuring underprivileged children have access to quality education. Specifically, through our grantees, the Foundation awards the Kaira Karmakar Scholarship to talented students access higher secondary education (2 years) and tertiary education (4/5 years). The Foundation works with select NGOs and institutions that are already impacting change by improving access and quality of education and enhancing the overall well-being of deserving talented children from underprivileged areas.

Education plays an essential role in human, social, and economic development. Without it, many children will never be able to escape the cycle of poverty, which can often hold back otherwise gifted children from reaching their full potential.
Driven by the belief that every child must have equal opportunity to succeed, the Karmakar Foundation works to help children from lower socio-economic backgrounds who do not have access to proper educational facilities in their formative years. Poorer children are often unable to attend schooling beyond certain levels, as fees increase, and adequate institutions may not be accessible to them. Our objective is to work with local organisations to provide the support necessary to ensure more gifted students from underprivileged backgrounds access quality educational institutions. The Karmakar Foundation seeks to ensure that all children, especially those with the fewest resources, have access to the opportunities they need to succeed in school and life.
The foundation does not accept any external funding for its scholarships and grants. The Karmakar Family fully funds all initiatives in India via the Foundation.
