Q I am a student. How do I apply for a scholarship?
A The Foundation only works via registered grantees (Schools/ institutions/ NGOs). Your application must be routed through your school. Please ask your school to empanel with the Foundation.
Q What is the scholarship amount per grant?
A

We aim to increase access to high-quality education for talented students in selected developing countries. We provide support for a student’s:

– School costs (including transportation)

– Welfare (to ensure the student has a supportive and productive environment at home)

Q We are an educational institution. Can we register and apply for grants?
A The Foundation accepts applications from any registered educational institution catering to grade 9 to grade 12 students. Once we receive the application for empanelment, our legal team engages in a due-diligence process. We only accept institution that has credible infrastructure to support the growth of grade 9 to 12 high school students. We understand that all schools in developing countries may not have adequate infrastructure, therefore we are unable to approve all applications.
Q Starting what grade do you provide scholarship?
A The Foundation provides scholarship from grade 9 to grade 12. Scholars are on boarded when they are studying in their grade 8 and upon approval, receives annual scholarship, renewed for 4 years based on annual grades/ results.
Q Is there any scholarship for higher education/ graduation/ post-graduation?
A Yes, the foundation has provisions to provide scholarships for higher education. Such scholarships are only given to a candidate who has been a foundation scholar for 4 years from grade 9 to 12. Such applications have a different approval criterion.
Q We are a registered grantee (school or NGO). How do we apply or manage our grants?
A Once your School/ NGO is registered as a grantee, you will receive login credentials to Build a Scholar platform. All applications, grants and information sharing is managed using this platform.
Q How do we signup as a grantee?
A You can apply to empanel your school or NGO from Register as Grantee link. Once approved, you will receive a docusign document to agree on the terms and conditions. All information flow is online and kept transparent.
Q What are Foundation chapters?
A Foundation is managed in different cities and countries by its chapters. Chapters are local organizations that work closely with Schools/ NGOs and Scholars.
Q What is the evaluation criterion for scholarship?
A Once we receive a grant application, the local chapter connect with the grantee. Each chapter has its own selection panel. Once an application is approved by the chapter, all applications are sent to the Foundation board for final approval.
Q My funding request does not fall under any of your grants programs. How do I submit a new application?
A We do not make grants outside our funding priorities. Please visit “What we do not Fund”
Q I am an individual seeking financial assistance. Am I eligible for a grant?
A Grants are only disbursed to a school/ institution or NGO. The foundation is unable to make grants directly to individuals.
Q I am raising money for a cause. Am I eligible for a grant?
A The foundation makes grants only to organizations directly working toward education sector, therefore we are unable to fund your effort.
Q Does the Foundation invests in enhancing school infrastructure?
A No. The Foundation does not invest in anything except scholarships.
